Is Unicorn SPiT Waterproof?
Unicorn SPiT is a water based gel stain and glaze paint. It can be waterproofed by applying a coating such as Epoxy Resin. Since it's water based it can't be mixed into resin, however once set, a coat of epoxy will add depth and brilliance to the colours while protecting the surface.
Does Unicorn SPiT need to be sealed?
For best results, seal Unicorn SPiT with a non-water based spray sealant or pour over a coat of 2-part epoxy resin. Famowood Glaze Coat is produced by the makers of Unicorn SPiT and is the recommended finish.
Can Unicorn SPiT be used on leather, metal and plastic?
YES! Unicorn SPiT can be used on practically any surface. You can also SPiT over paint and other finishes. It works perfectly on concrete, glass, wood, laminate, metal, leather, paper, plastic and ceramics!
How much Unicorn SPiT will I need?
Straight out of the bottle, you'll should get about half a square metre coverage from a 4oz (118.2ml) bottle and a full square metre from an 8oz (236.5ml) bottle. That's based on a brushed full coat over that area. Depending on the surface porosity this can vary significantly. You can also dilute Unicorn SPiT with water to create different effects, consistencies and saturations. The possible coverage would increrase significantly depending on the level of dilution.
